Today we are celebrating one of the most beautiful holidays in the calendar, when we honor and give thanks to our mothers for all that they have done to raise us. We send our best wishes to all mothers who invest their time and energy into their children, setting an example for the entire community.
Children and adults alike celebrate Polish Mother’s Day every year on May 26th. Most schools hold events where children make gifts and special cards called “laurkas,” sing songs and recite poems. Adults usually gift flowers and chocolates.
Mother's Day was observed in pre-war Poland, and the Polish Red Cross oversaw its administration. In Poland, Mother’s Day is a fairly young holiday, but it has been known since antiquity as the ancient Greeks and Romans worshiped mother-goddesses.

Wszystkiego najlepszego z okazji polskiego Dnia Matki!
Dziś obchodzimy jedno z najpiękniejszych świąt w kalendarzu, kiedy oddajemy cześć i dziękujemy naszym mamom za wszystko, co zrobiły, aby nas wychować. Wszystkim mamom, które poświęcają swój czas i energię swoim dzieciom, dając przykład całemu społeczeństwu, składamy najlepsze życzenia.
W Polsce, dzieci i dorośli obchodzą Dzień Matki 26 maja. W większości szkół organizowane są celebracje, podczas których dzieci robią prezenty i specjalne kartki zwane „laurkami”, śpiewają piosenki i recytują wiersze. Dorośli zazwyczaj podarowują kwiaty i czekoladki.
Dzień Matki obchodzono w przedwojennej Polsce, a nad jego administracją czuwał Polski Czerwony Krzyż. W Polsce Dzień Matki jest stosunkowo młodym świętem, ale znany jest od starożytności, kiedy to starożytni Grecy i Rzymianie czcili boginie-matki.
