Piano recital by Marianna Humetska was part of the 3rd festival Chopin IN The City
Tuesday’s piano solo concert by Marianna Humetska in The Polish Museum of America was a big success in music and evening to remember. Marianna is a master of her instrument; it was pleasure to listen and to watch. Usually in art intermediary between artist and the artistic product like in the form of camera between photographer and the artistic photograph is a subject of controversy, same with computer generated art or even in movie making; but all that controversy was so eloquently challenged and denied in harmonious unity between the artist and the instrument in Marianna performance. She became one with the instrument as if one belong to the other as a part of the same organism. Fingers of her hands became the dance ensemble, her face was telling the story that the music portrayed, story of emotions, of transitoriness of life and permanency of art. The sublime character of Chopin music and its folk motifs as well as its majestic views of the beauty of landscapes were present in both sounds of music and in expressive art of music making by the artist.
A measure of the success of the concert was the second, private one, that took place after the scheduled one come to the end, that the pianist generously offered to those who gathered around the instrument to converse with her and to express appreciation.
Both were vivid and done with the heart and perfection.

Wtorkowy koncert fortepianowy solo w wykonaniu Marianny Humetskiej w Muzeum Polskim w Chicago był dużym sukcesem, a miły ten wieczór pozostanie pamięci. Pani Marianna jest mistrzem swego instrumentu i było miło słuchać jej muzyki i obserwować jej grę. Tak zwykle jest w sztuce, że wszystko co oddziela twórcę do jego wytworu stanowi przedmiot kontrowersji, jak to ma miejsce w przypadku obiektywu jaki stoi pomiędzy fotografującym a fotografią, to samo jest ze sztuką generowaną komputerowo, czy w przypadku kinematograficznego obrazu; ale ta kontrowersja została bardzo elokwentnie nie tylko zakwestionowana, ale zdecydowanie zaprzeczona poprzez pełną harmonii jedność pomiędzy artystą a instrumentem jaką zaprezentowała Pani Marianna. Ona stanowiła jedność ze swoim instrumentem, tak jakby należeli do siebie jak części tego samego organizmu. Palce jej dłoni stały się jakby zespołem tanecznym, jej twarz opowiadała historię jaką muzyka wyrażała; historię o emocjach, o przemijaniu życia oraz o sztuce, która jest nieprzemijająca. Zarówno subtelny charakter muzyki Szopena, jak i jej ludowe motywy, jak też majestatyczne widoki piękna krajobrazu były obecne i poprzez muzykę i poprzez ekspresję jej tworzenia przez artystkę.
Miarą sukcesu jakim cieszył się koncert był drugi, prywatny, jaki się odbył po zakończeniu oficjalnego, a który pianistka chętnie zaoferowała tym, którzy zgromadzili się wokół fortepianu by porozmawiać z artystką i przekazać jej wyrazy uznania.
Oba były pełne życia i wykonane z sercem i perfekcją.
