PMA mourns the loss of Jacek Miler

It is with extreme sadness that we inform you that Jacek Miler, Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage Abroad and Wartime Lossess of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage passed away today after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Agnieszka and daughters Alicja and Natalia.

Mr. Miler visited the PMA many times and was a strong proponent in Poland of the Polish Museum of America. He assisted and advised the PMA on many projects that came to fruition which were a result of his intervention on our behalf. Mr. Miler was supportive, accommodating, and viewed the PMA as an important institutional treasure of Polish heritage, culture and history. He will be missed by not only the PMA, but other institutions in and outside of Poland as well as in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

On behalf of the PMA family, I extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and daughters. His impact on the PMA will remain with us into the future.
May he rest in eternal peace.

Muzeum Polskie w Ameryce żegna swojego Przyjaciela i Współpracownika

Z sercami pełnymi smutku zawiadamiamy Państwa, że w dniu dzisiejszym, 21 grudnia po długiej chorobie zmarł Jacek Miler, dyrektor Departamentu Dziedzictwa Kulturowego za Granicą i Strat Wojennych Ministerstwa Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego.

Szczere wyrazy współczucia dla Żony Agnieszki i Córek Alicji i Natalii oraz wszystkich współpracowników. Pan Jacek Miler odwiedzał MPA wielokrotnie. Współpracował z nami od lat. Wiele projektów zostało wdrożone dzięki Niemu. Zawsze taktowny, precyzyjny, fachowy, doceniał i zauważał potrzeby, wychodził im naprzeciw. Wiele Jego pomysłów żyje i nabiera rozpędu. Pozostanie w naszej wdzięcznej pamięci jako Przyjaciel Muzeum i nas samych.
