The Polish Museum of America was visited today by several members of The Brotherhood of Roosters - one of the oldest defense associations in Europe and in Poland. They played the role of civil and territorial defense for centuries, and then, nurturing old customs and military traditions, they became the arena of the fight for Polish identity and independence. The current role of the Brotherhood is shaping national identity and promoting Polish traditions among citizens. The guests visited the offices of the Polish Roman Catholic Union where they learned about the history of the organization and then toured the PMA’s impressive collections with our talented team of guides and volunteers.

Muzeum Polskie w Ameryce odwiedziło dziś kilku członków Zjednoczenia Organizacji Historycznych i Strzeleckich – Bractwo Kurkowe. Bractwa te są jednymi z najstarszych stowarzyszeń obronnych w Europie i w Polsce. Przez wieki pełniły rolę obrony cywilnej i terytorialnej, a następnie, pielęgnując dawne zwyczaje i tradycje militarne, stały się areną walki o polską tożsamość i niepodległość. Obecną rolą Bractwa jest kształtowanie tożsamości narodowej i krzewienie polskich tradycji wśród obywateli. Goście zwiedzili siedzibę Zjednoczenia Polskiego Rzymsko-Katolickiego, gdzie poznali historię organizacji, a następnie wraz z naszym utalentowanym zespołem przewodników i wolontariuszy zwiedzili imponujące zbiory MPA.
